ELOUNDA HOLIDAYS

Elounda is set on the north coast of Crete just one hour from the main airport at Heraklion, and close to one of the oldest holiday towns on the island Agios Nikolaos.
Overlooking the Bay of Mirambelou, and the famous island of Spinalonga, which was the last leper colony in Europe. The small town of Elounda with it’s excellent selection of bars, cafes, restaurants, and shops has become exceptionally popular.

The surrounding area is home to luxury hotels such as Blue Bay Palace, and Elounda Bay, often frequented by the rich and famous.
Elounda is an ideal holiday location with good access to all parts of the island, but with glorious weather clear blue seas and sunny days remaining close by offers everything for the perfect relaxing beach holiday. Going from Elounda there are boats to the Island and sea trips a plenty.

In the surrounding area there are a number of small traditional villages, such as Fourni, Pines, Plaka, Pano Elounda, Kato Elounda, Olbous, Helinika, which are enjoyable to visit. Going back inland to the old administrative town of Neapoli, which is still home to the local courts, provides a change of pace the town has a beautiful old square with a selection of places to eat or drink in a leisurely fashion, the town is also a good entrance to the rural area of the Lasithi Plateau, a nice day out if you have a hire car rented for a day or two.

Elounda really does have charm often associated with smaller locations, and is one of those places which are visited and revisited by faithful holiday makers who know what they like.
